Gates & Associates

Hank Gates worked for Arlington County Police Department in Arlington Virginia for 25.5 years. He retired in 2000 as a Sergeant. He then moved to Phoenix, Arizona that same year to work for the Department of Corrections for a year. After leaving the DOC, Hank worked for the Phoenix Unified School District as a teacher. Shortly after in 2003, he worked for the Maricopa County Public Defender's office in the Juvenile Section as a Criminal Investigator for 15.5 years. He then retired as a supervisor of the investigative unit in July of 2018. After retiring, several attorneys from the public defenders office wanted to work with Hank due to his work ethic while with the public defenders office. Those same attorneys encouraged him to obtain his private investigators License. Shortly after Hank created Gates & Associates.

Donna Jim worked for the Phoenix Police department for ten years and left the sworn side Sergeant. She then transitioned to the Crime Laboratory where she started as a Crime Scene Technician and was eventually promoted to a Latent Print Examiner II. She left the Phoenix PD and worked for the Chandler Police Department as an Identification Specialist III for 3 years and retired in 2008. She has worked for the Navajo Gaming Regulatory Office as a Gaming Regulatory Investigator. Shortly after she began working for the Public Defenders Office where she worked as a Defender Investigator
